I’m Kari Morin, a master-certified transformational life and empowerment coach, retreat leader, and podcast host.

My path here wasn’t linear.

I started in education and nonprofit leadership, where I had the privilege of learning from incredible mentors who taught me what it means to serve with both compassion and clarity.

Those years shaped how I show up as a coach today: no-nonsense, deeply human, and committed to helping women reconnect to their passion and identify their unique gifts.

Along the way, I earned my Master’s in Education from Vanderbilt, but some of my most profound lessons have come from lived experience, especially as a longtime caregiver.

I’m the mom of three sons, one of whom has an intellectual and medical disability.

That journey has stretched me, broken me open, and also taught me more about resilience, love, and renewal than any classroom could.

These days, I live in Portland, Oregon, with my husband of 30 years and our two muppet-like Havanese dogs, who think their job is to follow me everywhere.

Our boys are young adults now, and while caregiving still informs my daily life, I have found enormous joy in this season.

I support women through coaching, co-hosting The Things We Know podcast, and leading retreats for women who are worn out from keeping up appearances and long to start showing up in ways that feel real and fulfilling.

I believe the best chapters of our lives are not behind us; they are the ones we choose to write next —with more ease, energy, and joy.

My work is grounded in years of training across integrative health, transformational coaching, and relationship-centered practices.

My coaching is informed by a blend of evidence-based frameworks and deep listening. I’m trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Positive Intelligence (PQ), and am a certified health and life coach. Over the years, I’ve integrated these tools with my background in education and nonprofit leadership to help women see patterns more clearly, shift internal narratives, and make choices that actually align with their lives.

I don’t offer formulas or one-size-fits-all answers. I offer perspective, structure, and a steady process that helps clients uncover clarity, build self-trust, and move forward with intention — at a pace that supports lasting change

Partnership with We Are Brave Together

As a caregiver mom to an adult son living with a rare genetic mutation that causes intractable epilepsy and intellectual disability, I’ve walked a journey that has shaped both my heart and my purpose. I’m honored to be a contributing author in the upcoming anthology Suddenly Brave Together — a heartfelt collection of letters from caregiving moms to those just beginning this journey.

I’m also proud to serve as a chapter coordinator for We Are Brave Together, a national nonprofit that supports and empowers mothers caring for children with special needs, chronic illnesses, or disabilities. In the Portland, Oregon chapter, I help facilitate connection circles and create safe spaces for tired, brave caregiver moms to find understanding, encouragement, and community.

The Things We Know podcast is a space for honest conversation, hard-earned wisdom, and the beautiful, messy truth of being human-especially in midlife and beyond. We exist to remind women that the best is not behind them, and that their voices, stories and dreams matter now more than ever. Through heartfelt dialogue, real-life experiences and a touch of humor, we aim to spark clarity, connection and the courage to create a life you truly love.
